Phuong Cao obtained her PhD in Applied Linguistics from the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, Victoria University of Wellington where she acquired her second M.A degree in TESOL. Her PhD thesis focuses on teachers’ assessment practices in an English programme. In Vietnam, she works as a teacher trainer at Hanoi National University of Education. Phuong teaches courses on second language learning in undergraduate TESOL and the MA in Applied Linguistics/TESOL programmes, including TESOL research, and language assessment. She has also taught academic English courses in New Zealand, and Singapore. Her current research includes curriculum development, programme evaluation, textbook analysis, and language assessment.
